Why do I run?
I run because I can.
I run because I was told I would never be able to again.
I run because there’s significant chance I might not be able to ever again once my ankle is fused.
I run because when I run I feel truly connected ~ mind to body to ground.
I run because it feels like everything else just melts away and I can see clearly.
I run because the first time I ran after my accident the look my children’s faces were ones of fierce, unfiltered pride.
I run because every single time I do it I am proving something to myself, crushing my limits and winning on my own terms.
Why do I run?
Because I can.
Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing I hope you know your reasons why.
Love D.
